The school origin extends back to the year 1980, with only 6 students and 1 teacher in a rented house in Laxmi Nagar. Within 12 years of its inception, a small school flourished into a big institution with good number of students and teachers over the years. Mrs Gupta (Principal, Nav Shakti School and Founder-Laxmi Public School) handed over the responsibility of running the school to Mrs. Shukla Malhotra under the expert guidance of Mrs Gupta the school started growing. 

Marching ahead in 1982, Ms Nirmal Bhasin joined the Institution as (Head Mistress). The school got recognition in the year 1985 upto 8th standard. The journey of moving forward kept on and in the year 1987. The school got affiliated upto 10th standard with CBSE, New Delhi. Subsequently in the year 1989, the school was upgraded to senior secondary level. With relentless efforts, clear vision, thought & dynamism, the School which came into existence in 1980 has grown over the last four decades to become one of the leading CBSE affiliated schools in East Delhi. Laxmites have consistently excelled in all domains of education.

The School feels proud in growing from strength to strength and imparting education of global standards that combines both traditional value & modern outlook. Also, inculcating in students th quality of both head & the heart and thus guiding them towards a new consciousness as citizens of the world.
